Hello and Help?! This post is made in desperation. I am not a Mopar guy; I need expert advice. I owned a bunch of Dart/225 sedans back in my day but I haven't owned one since Mom died and have never had a Mopar v8. I recently bought myself a basket case 'cuz my life was too perfect maybe, I don't really know. 1966 273 A100 with, as it turned out 5 months ago, one cracked head. I have been through EIGHT heads now since then, trying to get a match, ripped off by Ebay vendors and machine shops alike! Ended up with two 318 heads #2843675, applicable to 1968 to 1974. A guy at a machine shop told me the 318s were "pretty much the same". HA!! The manifold bolt angles on the 318 heads are NOT the same as my 273 intake. But I see people advertising intakes for 273/318 on Ebay. But my original 273 intake on the original 1966 stock block DOES NOT FIT THE BOLT HOLE ANGLES DRILLED INTO THE 318 HEADS. After 5 months of pure sado-masochistic torture I've got almost $3,000 into this nightmare to find a set of matching heads for this 273 block and I am at zero! ZERO! I will not buy another head! Can anyone please tell me what the hell I've done wrong and how to get past the harikiri seppuku stage?! I'm seriously on the verge of doing something bad to my dog with a fork. Is there a 318 intake that will fit a 273 block with 318 heads casting #2843675 Thank you for reading this desperate rant.

You have a 1964-'65 273 intake, which only fits the same-year cylinder heads. You can use any intake from a 1966 or newer 273, 318, 340 or 360. Either your van was a super-early production unit that had a leftover 1965 engine, or (more likely) someone's fiddled with it before you owned it. All 1966-1991 small block intakes interchange in terms of bolting to the heads.
